Speaker Series October 2009

Thanks to all who helped us with another great Speaker Series. We hope you enjoyed some great speakers, shared some great conversation, and met some new friends. Want to know what else we're up to? Sign-up for E-Reminders.

September 30 - Join us for a special movie event!

[Please note schedule change: Sr. Margaret Scott will be unable to attend due to illness. Our prayers go out to her for a quick and full recovery.] A special program lead by Br. Bud Knight of the Christian Brothers Spiritual Center. We'll be viewing the short film Laundry & Tosca and sharing in some great discussion about how Marcia's story inspires us to follow our dreams, believe in our talents, and pursue the impossible - because it just may be possible after all!

We'll need the many and diverse voices of all our TOT friends to add to the success of this evening, so plan to come out and share your thoughts and ideas. We look forward to seeing you this Wednesday, 7pm at Kildares in Manayunk. -- Thanks! from the TOT Planning Committee.

October 07 - "Theology & Harry Potter: Confronting evil as a Christian in the modern world" with Don Musacchio, Director off Formantional Ministries at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish

Harry Potter Book One - click for more on the booksAfter studying engineering at Rutgers University, Don spent six years discerning a religious vocation with the Brotherhood of Hope. Don has also served as a Catholic campus minister and has lead young adult and high school youth ministries. He has a Master's degree in Philosophy from Franciscan University of Steubenville and is working towards a Doctorate in Philosophy from Villanova University. Don is blessed to be married for the past seven years to his beautiful bride Kate with whom he has three children: Daniel, Rusty, and Anna May Rose.

In addition to Book, his articles and reviews have appeared in Time Out New York, Commonweal, The Tablet of London and America magazine. Bill is also a singer/songwriter who has released several albums both as a solo artist and with his former band Valentine Smith that have been critically acclaimed by publications ranging from the New York Times and the Washington Post to Billboard. His music has appeared in both films and network television. He is a graduate of Georgetown University.

October 21 - "Whose Faith is it Anyway?" with Sr. Marie Michele Donnelly, RSM, MA, Co-Director of Mercy Spiritual Ministries & Adjunct Professor in Theology at Gwynedd Mercy College

Sr. Marie Michele Donnelly, Mercy Spiritual MinistriesMarie Michele Donnelly, RSM, MA, currently serves as Co-Director of Mercy Spiritual Ministries, through which she provides preached retreats for parishes, school faculties, ministry groups, ecumenical groups and religious communities. She is a frequent presenter for parent and parish groups throughout the Tri-State region (PA, NJ and DE). Sister is a keynote speaker for large groups across the United States. She is an adjunct Theology professor at Gwynedd Mercy College. She holds an MA in Theology from Villanova University.
